How Body By Steel Changed My Life
By Becky Kriebel

When I joined the gym, I had reached an all-time low. I was 26 years old, at least 150 lbs. overweight, and depressed about my life. I thought I could deal with things alone, but when one of the personal trainers called, he just said, “You don’t have to.” So, I signed up and started going to the gym and meeting with Kyle regularly.
When I heard about Body By Steel, I remembered my sister telling me: “There is always some excuse with you!”, and I realized that I didn’t want to be THAT person anymore!
Going to the first meeting was exciting and terrifying at the same time. The commitment scared me, but when it came time for me to give my reason for joining, I heard myself say “I’m Becky, and I have lived the last 26 years putting others before me, and this program is my way of learning how to put me first!” Wow! Did that come out of my mouth?
The work was hard and fun at the same time. Something about working out makes people happy. I began taking time everyday to go to the gym and workout. My motivation and enthusiasm continued to grow every time I went. People from the competition would encourage each other. I’d see some of the same people consistently and began to form friendships.
The more I went to the gym, the more “family” I began to have.
At our last weigh-in, I walked into a room full of hugs from all of the contestants and staff, knowing we all got through the competition together! I learned so much and lost as much weight as I did because of each and every one of them!
By the end of the competition, I had lost 35 lbs., 16% body fat, and two dress sizes. I also dropped my mile time by 5 minutes, increased my sit-ups by 14, push-ups by 4, and flexibility to 5.8 inches. I can now jog/run on the treadmill!
But, the results are a whole lot more than just numbers. My self-esteem grew a lot! I gained a whole other “family” of wonderful, supportive friends.
The accountability, knowledge, and support I gained through the program helped me remain on the “Steel path”!
Thank you to all of the Steel Fitness staff and members, my family, and my friends––both old and new ones! I am truly blessed to have you in my life! |

After I left my last gym, I searched for ~ 1 year to find a gym that would fit into my schedule. I am a 'morning' workout person, arriving at the gym ~ 6AM. Although I live ~12 miles from the gym, I still get there when on vacation. That states that I enjoy the surroundings and the equipment that Steel Fitness chose to install.
I am an R&D Scientist with OraSure Technologies Inc in Bethlehem and I am currently 49....quickly approaching the big '50'! I think the reason turning 50 is not a big deal to me is being able to work out and stay in shape!

My wife Robin and I joined Steel Fitness about 6 months ago. We used to belong to a local fitness center in the area, and frankly didn’t much like it. We love Steel. The cardio area is spacious, with state of the art machines, and has great light and great windows to look out. The weight area is comprehensive. The locker rooms have nice showers and steam and sauna, and good sized lockers.
The members are friendly. The trainers know what they’re doing, and have helped to make sure my lifting is done so that I am getting a great workout without hurting myself.
I at first concentrated on losing weight and getting toned. After six months, I have lost 45 pounds, and I feel so much better.
Recently, I decided I was ready to start adding muscle mass, and I now work with a trainer. The workouts are tough, but really work for me. I never would be able to accomplish on my own what I accomplish working with a trainer.
I also work out at Chelsea Piers in New York. Frankly, I have always thought that Chelsea Piers was the gold standard for fitness centers. After six months at Steel, I have come to believe that Steel Fitness is every bit as good as Chelsea Piers, and the employees and the members are better.
Tricia, thanks so much for the great work!! Keep it up!!
Regards,
Marty Staff

| I love Steel Fitness! I am very happy to say since January I lost 22 lbs, I myself would rather lose it slow then take it off quickly and then put it back on again. Along with the gym, I am also changing my eating habits. I am still enjoying the foods I love (pizza, pasta, etc just not as often). I am very happy with my weight loss. You hear people take a lot of weight off and then put it back on, I want to take it off slowly, keep it off, still enjoy going out to eat and eat the foods I love. I finally figured out you need both to lose weight. Everyone tells me how good I look and that makes me feel good too! |
